Pad over to Padstow for festive fun

The 2012 Christmas Festival in the pretty fishing port town of Padstow is sure to draw big crowds with market stalls selling locally made produce and offering gift ideas, alongside a lively entertainment programme that includes celebrity chef cookery demonstrations, fireworks, hog roast, a Santa fun run…and more.

Taking place from December 7th to the 9th, the quayside will be filled with stalls selling festive goodies, local shops will stay open late, and on the Saturday evening purchase of a £15 ticket will enable you to ‘Sing with the Stars’. The celebrities taking part and providing humorous readings at the carol concert in St Petroc’s church, in aid of a local charity, includes Kate Adie, Ian McNeice, Jeremy Child and Robin Knox Johnston.

If you are looking for cookery tips, live demonstrations by a string of top chefs that includes Mr ‘Padstein’ himself, Rick Stein, will help you out. The cuisine of Cornwall is inspirational and you may want to buy some locally made chutneys, mulled apple juice or perhaps hand-made chocolates for your own Christmas table.

It’s just a short drive to Padstow from Hustyns, near Wadebridge, where you can relax in beautiful hotel rooms and lodges served by a range of facilities and activities, including a superb leisure centre and spa, to add to the enjoyment of your holiday in Cornwall. Hustyns’ restaurant also offers a taste of authentic Cornish cuisine, using many locally produced and home-grown ingredients.
