Award-winning winemakers Bob and Sam Lindo are regulars at the CLC Hustyns leisure club, of which they are members, where facilities include a gym, steam room, sauna, large pool – and a sparkling, bubbly Jacuzzi that is perfect for easing tired muscles.
The Lindos know a lot about bubbles… the top notch fizz produced at the family’s Camel Valley Vineyard ‘down the road’ at Nanstallon, near Bodmin, is an international winner and with Christmas and New Year approaching now could be a good time to try it.
“We stock all their wines in our bar, they have gained such a fantastic reputation and they have a very impressive record of awards and medals, beating world-class competition,” says CLC Hustyns resort manager Jamie Alexander. “In fact, Sam has won so many awards they’ve asked him to become a judge, no doubt to give some of the others a chance!”
Produced using traditional (champagne) methods, Cornwall sparkling wine has taken 4 trophies in the coveted Bollicine del Mondo World championships, with the Lindos crowned sparkling rosé world champions in 2010 and 2011. Other honours include gold and 4 silvers in the International Wine Challenge 2012 and gold in the Decanter World Wine Awards this year.
If you are planning a visit to CLC Hustyns, why not indulge all your senses to enjoy luxury pampering and relaxation in the spa and then think about ordering a Camel Valley wine, sparkling or still, for a real taste of Cornwall in our restaurant and bar? If you like it as much as everyone else seems to, including Jamie, you could be heading to their winery to stock up for your next celebration!
