A homemade cake bake sale, pink ‘uniform’ and a sponsored hair cut all meant one thing on Friday October 23rd: raising money for Breast Cancer charity, and this year CLC Hustyns made a grand total of £756!
Half of that sum (£378) was raised through the activities organised for ‘Wear it Pink’ day – and the resort had pledged to match the same amount.
Employees entered the spirit of ‘Wear it Pink’ day by wearing their own pink clothes for a £1 donation and Guy Hall, the resort’s Kitchen Porter, took the hair raising decision to have his long-ish locks lopped off for the charity, trusting a colleague to wield the clippers!
There were plenty of saucy pink props and ‘breast was best’ for novelty cake shapes, along with a splendid spread of pink sweet treats.
Claire Alexander, Head Housekeeper, who played a pivotal role in organising, thanked everyone “who participated and donated” with “special thanks” to Guy, Kelly, who became barber at short notice, Miranda, who sourced last minute clippers and all those who made cakes and supplied the pink props: Jenna, Edina, Maria, Gillie, Diana, Kelly, Miranda and Debs. A lot of worthwhile fun!
